As a client’s trusted advisor, VTruitt Consulting focuses on developing customized strategies and implementing results-focused tactics to help move the needle on public perception, raise awareness of key issues, and advance critical legislation, or impede harmful legislation.

The firm was founded by former Texas State Representative Vicki Truitt, who brings 14 years of experience and leadership from serving in the Texas House of Representatives, as well as insight into multiple industries, to VTruitt Consulting. She has extensive insider knowledge and relationships with federal and state officials and state agencies that she leverages to the benefit of the firm’s clients.

During her tenure as a state legislator, Truitt chaired the Texas House Committee on Pensions, Investments and Financial Services. She also served on the budget-writing Appropriations Committee, the influential House Calendars Committee, and was Vice-Chair of the Sunset Advisory Commission, where she led House activities on Sunset legislation during the 80th Session of the Texas Legislature. Additionally, she served on the House Committees on Public Health, where she was Chair of Budget and Oversight, Human Services, Juvenile Justice & Family issues, Rules & Resolutions, and a Joint Interim Committee on Public School Finance, a Select Committee on State Health care Expenditures, was Vice-Chair of Rules & Resolutions, Elections, Land & Resource Management.

Vicki’s statewide appointments included service as the Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Texas Office for the Prevention of Developmental Disabilities, and served on the Texas Pension Review Board.

Outside of the Texas Legislature, Truitt has worked in health care for more than three decades, including being certified by the American College of Medical Staff Development and operating a health-care consulting firm for more than 30 years.
